Jawbone ICON Series Thinker Bluetooth Headset (Black)

The Role of Radio Frequency in Bluetooth

The RFCOMM Protocol

The protocol for Bluetooth Radio Frequency Communications or simply Bluetooth RFCOMM emulates the RS232 serial ports over another protocol known as L2CAP or the Logical Link Control and Adaptation Protocol. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group or SIG maintains the protocol specification for the Bluetooth Radio Frequency Communications.

First Contact with the Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset

I decided to purchase the Apple Bluetooth headset, I received earlier than expected because the timing was between 5 and 7 days, we expected it to next Monday, its availability now and 24 hours.

This is a bluetooth headset that works exclusively with the iPhone, lightweight headset with overly reminiscent of the ugly white headphones of iPods.

The headset it very well presented in the typical minimalist Apple box (style iPod Shuffle) and includes barely own headset, USB cable for iPod connector with a magnet-type connector to charge the headset and a pair of pads and manuals you will not find in the Spanish language except in the warranty.

Its operation is simple as well by simply connecting it to carry the iPhone will be linked and you can start using it, simply turn the little button and go higher.

Apple and could not be less surprised me po immediately asked how I could check the charging device, the iPhone's screen will show the load placed on the headset when charging the headset with a big picture and show us the battery is left with a Pilita beside the bluetooth indicator as a green bar red.

I can not say that the sound quality is unsurpassed by any means, the appearance of white-style headset becomes latent and the option to listen microphone may seem to a normal quality. The device meets the expectations and works perfectly fine.

Nokia BH-501 Bluetooth Headset

To get away from phones, these past weeks I've been using to test some bluetooth headsets, one of the Nokia BH-501 is the typical blutooth headset to use if you listen to more music is what you do with your mobile phone.

Its main feature the comfort and design "necklace" which is where the headset "falls" back of the head by hooking in the ears that, in turn, is the worst flaw as the microphone is far away and you have to talk VERY safe for you to hear the other side and 2 strengths are its sound quality and the number of computers that can connect.

The volume, the calls and the pairing with the teams operated from 3 keys on the right ear can be matched up with 10 different computers (PC, Mac, mobile phones or MP3 players) that support the Bluetooth specification 1.2 with profiles HFP, HSP and A2DP

An interesting, when you use some of the new Nokia uses an "encrypted link security, weighing only 68 grams and the battery is AWESOME ... in a week using it enough if only to listen to music so I had to reload only a while.

They have a "folder mode" to save space, here is a picture of the Nokia BH-501 closed and to understand the real size, here you have compared the Nokia BH-501 vs.. Nokia BH-801

Overview of Bluetooth Sony Ericsson Phones

Even you are not technically savvy or you do not have the latest mobile phone, you probably have heard of Bluetooth – the wireless connectivity technology. Sony Ericsson phones (then just Ericsson) were the pioneers of Bluetooth technology but today, practically all cell phone manufacturers have obtained a license to use it.

What exactly is Bluetooth and how does this technology revolutionized Sony Ericsson phones and the rest of mobile phones? Quite simply, Sony Ericsson phones that are Blue-tooth enabled can transfer electronic information without using any wires. Obviously, this wireless setup has welcome benefits, foremost of which is convenience. You can connect
Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones with another Bluetooth device without inserting and arranging cables.

Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones, just like other Bluetooth devices, work through radio waves within a short-range, typically up to about a distance of 30 feet. The range of waves produce a small network area called a Personal Area Network or PAN. Within this network, Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones or other Bluetooth mobile phones, laptops, PCs, PDAs, printers and other Bluetooth devices will be able to connect with one another.

While there are other connectivity technologies available such as Infrared, Sony Ericsson phones succeeded with the Bluetooth technology because unlike Infrared, you can point your phone in any direction and the signal transmissions will still work.

Some popular Bluetooth devices that you can use with your Sony Ericsson phones are a hands-free kit that comes with an earpiece and microphone and also a Bluetooth headset that you can use when you are driving so you can still talk on the phone while keeping both hands on the wheel.

The latest Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones, such as the K800, can be used as PC remote controls because they have what is called an HID profile integrated into them so you can connect the phone to a PC and then use your phone to press keys or as a mouse. Once you have paired your Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phone with your PC, go to the Menu Folder then the Entertainment section then click Remote Control and select the profile you want to use.

Those with the newest Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones can try the remote control feature to control the volume of music or the play list during a party or for video nights and video presentations.

In selecting Bluetooth Sony Ericsson phones, you may want to know that the following models are affected by a Bluetooth service flaw: SE K600i, SE V600i, SE W800i and SE T68i. While Sony Ericsson says that damage would be minimal but concerned users can prevent illegal access to their phones by turning the “discovery mode” off in the phone’s Bluetooth setting and basically, disabling the service.

Sony Ericsson BlueTooth Headset

Instead of fitting expensive compact bluetooth technology into a sony ericsson headset Sony has provided a separate small Bluetooth adapters that you can clip on like an iPod shuffle, with a standard 3.5mm jack in which you can plug in any of your favorite earphones or headphones. The DS220 Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset is a more hi-tech looking version of the Jabra BT3030 which has a similar Bluetooth adapter. They do provide a decent pair of earphones with ear plugs that are way better than those provided by Jabra but nevertheless the DS220 Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset stereo adapter is compatible with any 3.5mm jack earphones and headphones.

Even though Sony has built the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset with music in mind they are just as useful for taking calls with the microphones that are built into the adapters. Switching between calls and music is pretty simple done with a press of an easily accessible button. The Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset adapter is cylindrical in shape with 3 buttons for control and a small LCD for displaying small info like the battery power remaining. The 3.5mm is at the top and charging jack at the bottom. The Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset adapter also has a clip near the bottom with which you can clip it on to your sleeve or the collar. The design is quite playful and clearly intended to attract younger consumers. Its best for when you’re in the Gym running or riding a bike.

The Sony Ericsson BlueTooth headset adapters do a solid job at handling music and calls wirelessly and positively command the price at which they are listed which is still affordable. Only trouble: even though they give wireless music at a low price they are still one step below wireless headphones which rid you of wires entirely.

The Jabra BT500 Bluetooth Cell Phone Headset: Features and Benefits

Today, in the mobile technology world, thin is in. Motorola started this trend with its Razr V3 phone and mobile device providers took their cue. Jabra launched the Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset, which is about thirty percent thinner than the previous model, the Jabra BT250.

This really slim BT500 Headset measures 4x2.4x0.6 inches and weighs only 0.7 ounce. Despite its tiny size, Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone is somewhat expensive at over US 100 dollars.

The grey Jabra BT500 headset sports a utilitarian look. Its angles are sharp and the sides are flat, quite the opposite of the aerodynamic feel of the BT250. On the other side, Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset provides good comfort to the ears with its speakers resting right inside your ear and it comes with varying sizes of 4 ear rubber gels.

The headset also has a boom mic that is just short and extendable to just an inch so that the headset does not attract too much attention when you have it on. The Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset does not have ear hooks. It is actually just a crescent-shaped piece that you slip on behind the ear. It is very easy to use and you don’t have to worry that the headset will get entangled with your hair.

The Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset features various controls. A tiny raised button that is closest to the mic controls the power and call buttons, and above it is another small button used for pairing. The problem with this particular button is it is flat (not raised) so it may be difficult to find and manipulate. Because of this, it is better to pair it with another device when you are not wearing it.

Lastly, the volume controls are just on top of the pairing button but they are also not easy to use. You can quickly pair the Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset with another mobile phone like the Sony Ericsson W600i. This pairing produces good reception as well as clarity when you are indoors. However, this may not be the case when you use the Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset outdoors.

Similarly, the volume works fine if you are indoors or if there is not so much wind or noise. Some other features of the Jabra BT500 Bluetooth cell phone headset are last-number redialing, USB charging and voice dialing. It also boasts of an eight-hour talk time and a 10-day standby time.
