Palm Treo 650 phones also include the Bluetooth technology that allows the phone to wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth devices such as headsets and earpieces, car kits, MP3 players and digital cameras.
Since Palm Treo 650 phones are Bluetooth ready, you can enjoy the benefits of staying wireless by using headsets that are Bluetooth compatible. All you have to do is to enable the Bluetooth function.
How to enable to the Bluetooth function of Palm Treo 650 Phones:
1. Enable your computer’s Bluetooth. Once turned on, you must configure a Virtual Serial Port. Every computer has its own Virtual Serial Port that can be configured using the Bluetooth Application Manager on your PC.
2. Pick any name that you want once it is on. Click on Setup Devices and then click on Trusted Devices for setting up your Bluetooth device.
3. Allow your Treo 650 phone to search for nearby Bluetooth devices. If both your phone and computer’s Bluetooth are active, they will be present in the options list. Select your PC from the device list and click on it. You should be asked for a confirmation code. Enter any code that you want. Once done you will be asked for the same code on your computer. Use the same code for synching up with other devices.
4. Return to Setup Devices and click on Hotsync Setup. Follow the instructions on how to create a Trusted Pair connecting your computer and Palm Treo 650 phone. After completing the Trusted Pair, click on the Applications key to close the Bluetooth application. Click the Hotsync icon in your PC’s system tray. Hit Setup then select Local Tab.
5. Click the Serial Port that you created from the Serial Port Menu. Click on the Hotsync Icon from the taskbar and make sure that Local is selected. You will be prompted to start a Hotsync operation. This operation on your Treo 650 phone will be configured automatically to connect to your computer wirelessly.
6. Once it is connected, the Hotsync operation should normally proceed. However, this operation will not be relatively fast as a USB connection because virtual serial ports and limited in speed. Nevertheless, its speed should be sufficient when installing applications and transferring large files.
The Bluetooth wireless technology in Palm Treo 650 phones is proven to be very efficient and easy to use. As an added advice, you need to setup your computer first before your Treo 650 phone so that the operation will be faster. Also, do not Hotsync large files at the same time and it is even better to keep huge amounts of data in your calendar or email.
